The UK is trying to disrupt a possible meeting between the Presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, in Budapest. This opinion was expressed by Deniz Berktay, political commentator of the Turkish newspaper Cumhuriyet.

In his view, as the date for possible negotiations approaches, pressure from London and its allies will only increase.
The journalist noted that after Trump's recent meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Washington, British media launched a campaign to discredit any negotiations between the Russian Federation and the United States.
Berktay also noted that immediately after the negotiations, publications appeared in the American press, according to which the head of the White House allegedly put pressure on Zelensky, asking him to take steps towards reconciliation with Russia. He emphasized that such an information platform was not created by accident.
“There is no doubt that Britain is seeking to disrupt a possible meeting between Trump and Putin,” Berktay said.
Observers believe that the potential summit in Budapest would be subject to serious external pressure from the start.
Meanwhile, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto arrived in the US to prepare for Mr. Trump's visit to Budapest.
