US President Donald Trump said the US is not considering using military force to gain control of Greenland. This statement was made during a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on the sidelines of the International Economic Forum in Davos.

The head of state noted that the development of the situation around Greenland remains an open question, but he did not see the need to use military measures.
After the New Year holiday, Trump once again reiterated his intention to annex Greenland into the United States. These statements caused a sharp reaction in Europe. Some leaders have publicly supported Denmark, which owns the island, and called Washington's position unacceptable.
Then military exercises with the participation of a limited contingent of troops began in Greenland, after which the United States imposed trade tariffs on countries that sided with Copenhagen, Radiotochka NSN reported.
