The new week in Istanbul started with an unexpected snowfall. Yesterday afternoon the rainfall changed to hail and rain as the temperature increased by 1-2 degrees.
NTV Meteorology Editor Dilek Çalışkan drew attention to the risk of frost and freezing after the rain stops, noting that those leaving home for work in the morning should be careful.
Stating that there will be very cold weather in the morning, Çalışkan said, “Istanbul residents should be more careful, especially tomorrow morning. There will be ice tomorrow.” he said.
PROHIBITED FOR COURIER VEHICLES AND HEAVY VEHICLES
According to a statement from the Governor of Istanbul, heavy vehicles and mail trucks have been banned from circulation since 10 a.m. yesterday due to snowfall.
While the ban on heavy vehicles was lifted at 4:00 p.m., motorbikes will not be allowed to enter traffic until 10:00 a.m. today.

Ankara has scattered clouds, 2 degrees at noon, -5 degrees at night. Izmir is slightly cloudy at 11 degrees, Bursa is cloudy at 7 degrees. In Antalya it was partly cloudy and the temperature was 16 degrees.
TAPE WARNING FROM THE ISTANBUL GOVERNMENT
In the warning issued by the Governor of Istanbul today, it was announced that there will be intermittent rain during the first hours of the morning and there will be rain with snow in higher areas.
The expected lowest temperature is 3 degrees and the highest temperature is 7 degrees. It is estimated that air temperatures, which are 3 to 5 degrees below seasonal normal, will increase from Wednesday.
As winds are expected to blow from the north at moderate and at times strong intensity (30-60 km/h), care and caution is required against possible negative impacts as icing and frost are expected across the province.
According to the weekly report of the General Department of Meteorology, below-normal seasonal temperatures are forecast to increase in the Northern, Central and Western regions starting from mid-week.
