
The planned and rotating water cuts, implemented every two days in Izmir due to drought and dwindling water resources, have been extended until November 15.
Izmir General Directorate of Water Supply and Sewerage (IZSU) has announced that planned and rotating water cuts carried out every two days will continue until November 15. Cuts will continue to be implemented in 13 districts: Karşıyaka, Çiğli, Bayraklı, Menemen, Gaziemir, Bornova, Buca, Karabağlar, Balçova, Konak, Narlıdere, Güzelbahçe and Menderes. According to the new planning; In the neighborhoods identified in the first region, Karşıyaka, Çiğli, Bayraklı, Menemen, Bornova, Gaziemir and Menderes districts, on October 31-02-04-06-08-10-12-14, in the second region, Karabağlar, Konak, Bornova, Balçova, Narlıdere, Güzelbahçe, Buca and in the surrounding areas identified in Gaziemir districts. Planned and rotating water cuts will be carried out from 23:00 to 05:00 on November 1-03-05-07-09-11-13-15. THERE IS NO WATER REMAINING IN THE TWO DAMS Although the water cutting plan continues, the amount of water in dams in Izmir continues to decrease day by day.
According to IZSU data; The occupancy rate of Tahtalı Dam, which supplies most of the city's drinking water, dropped to 1.77%. Water levels dropped to 3.7% at Ürkmez dam and 46.86% at Güzelhisar dam.
While the filling rate of Alaçatı Kutlu Aktaş Dam was recorded at 0.5%, Gördes Dam and Balçova Dam had no water left.
