
Two people in a group of five who came to Uludağ for a weekend trip to Bursa got lost while trying to walk down the mountain to avoid cable car security checks because they were carrying weapons.
In Bursa, teams mobilized 2 friends who got lost in the forest while trying to walk down to Uludağ.
The incident happened in the evening in the Uludağ Sarıalan region. Eyüp K., Murat A. and their 3 friends went to Uludağ for a weekend getaway. On the way back, 3 people like to go down the mountain by cable car. Eyüp K. and Murat A. decided to walk down to avoid going through the X-ray machine on the grounds that they were carrying unlicensed weapons.
THE PHONE SIGNAL HAS BEEN CUT
A while later, the two friends lost their way in the forest and used their cell phones to call the police for help. The Search and Rescue Gendarmerie (JAK) and search and rescue teams affiliated with AFAD and various NGOs were dispatched to the area.
Teams began a large-scale search in the area where the last signal from the missing people was received. However, those who were said to have run out of battery could not be contacted. During the search, reports were received of gunshots being fired in the area. The teams then focused on the forest area where the gunfire came from.
