In Antalya, pouring rain gave way to storms and hail. Walnut-sized hail fell in Kemer and tornadoes formed in Demre.
The shower started in Antalya in the morning and increased in intensity at noon. People unprepared for the sudden rain took shelter under trees, in kiosks and enclosed areas.
Some people were seen running away to avoid getting wet, while others continued walking despite the rain.
The shower changed to brief hail around 13:00. While some areas broke out in storms due to strong winds, lightning continuously illuminated the sky.
Hail and thunderstorms hit Kemer district around 9pm yesterday.
FULL SIZE BRAIN
During the rain, which lasted about half an hour, hail the size of a walnut was observed. After a while, hail appeared throughout the district, giving way to thunderstorms.
While road users were having difficulty due to hail, some people tried to take shelter in closed areas and protect their vehicles. It is known that some workplaces were also partially damaged.
GREENHOUSE COVERING HOSE
The tornado, which raged in Demre's Yaylakaya district, tore through the nylon coverings of greenhouses.
HOW LONG WILL THE RAIN LAST?
According to data from the General Department of Meteorology Region 4, rainfall is expected to continue intermittently until night in Antalya city center.
