Batman Kozluk, brother of Mayor Mehmet Veysi Işık, Mehmet Salim Işık, was found shot dead at his home. Işık died in the hospital.
Mehmet Salim Işık, 66, brother of Batman Kozluk District Mayor Mehmet Veysi Işık, died suspiciously. The incident happened in the evening at a two-story house in the Kozluk Sağlık area. After receiving reports from neighbors who heard gunshots coming from the ground floor apartment, medical teams and police were dispatched to the area.
Teams entering the house found Mehmet Salim Işık, brother of Kozluk Mayor Mehmet Veysi Işık, seriously injured and shot with a gun. Işık was taken to Kozluk State Hospital after first aid, but could not be saved despite intervention. While the body was taken to the Batman Training and Research Hospital morgue for an autopsy, it was assumed that Işık accidentally shot himself while cleaning his gun.
