During the investigation into the deaths of the Böcek family, a chemical called aluminum phosphide used to disinfect the environment was suspected. He believes the family may have been poisoned by bed bug medicine.
While the investigation into the deaths of the Böcek family continues, Homicide Bureau teams today reached a new discovery.
It was determined that a room on the ground floor of the hotel had been fumigated against bedbugs hours before the family was poisoned.
It is believed that the aluminum phosphide contained in the medicine used may have entered the family's room through the bathroom ventilation system and poisoned them.
WHAT IS ALUMINUM PHOSPHITE?
It is claimed that aluminum phosphide, used specifically in the fumigation of bedbugs and cockroaches, is not extremely toxic if used improperly.
It is claimed that this drug, mainly used as an agricultural and household pesticide, is a very strong poison and can easily cause death if inhaled too much.
Through investigation, it was determined that the employee of the pest control company, who was among the suspects, did not have any certification in this regard.
Under normal circumstances, this chemical must be used by trained personnel, the environment must be isolated and precautions must be taken to avoid gas accumulation.
