
An investigation committee was established in the National Assembly to investigate the causes of children being drawn into crime.
The issue of children being dragged into crime is once again on Türkiye's agenda after 15-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who was killed by two children, will be investigated at the Türkiye General Assembly (TBMM).
At the General Assembly of the Turkish Parliament, the Parliamentary Investigation Committee was established to look into the reasons why children commit crimes.
The working time of the 22-member committee will be 3 months and can work outside Ankara when necessary. Committee membership will be determined at a later date.
REGULATION TO IGNORE THE DRAFT
The regulation, which planned to increase penalties for children between the ages of 15 and 18 who are involved in crime, was included in the 11th Ministry of Justice draft, but was later removed from the draft. It is stated that the regulation will be reviewed in accordance with the studies and reports of the committee that will be established in the National Assembly.
