It is said that students of the high school in Aydın Efeler, who are not entitled to paid meals, are not allowed to enter the cafeteria and are not allowed to use the classroom for lunch.
During lunch breaks and meal times at Gazipaşa High School in Efeler District, students ate on the street in an unhealthy and unhygienic environment, which caused a reaction.
Allegedly, students who did not benefit from paid meals in school cafeterias and those who could not eat in the classroom met their nutritional needs by sitting on the ground in school gardens and surrounding streets. Students and parents, who have to eat next to statues and walls on the streets in an unhealthy environment, want a solution to this situation.
Students who eat on the street corner said: “We are not allowed to eat food brought from home into the cafeteria. They don't even let us sit in class, don't let us into the cafeteria. They only let us in from the dining area. When it rains, they only let us in the classroom. Other times, we have to eat outside.” Parents think they have somehow managed on sunny days, but they think about what happens on rainy and cold days, and not everyone has enough finances to buy school food and demand solutions. Parents also pointed out that having children eat out during lunch breaks poses a security problem, stating that students who bring meals from home can eat in the cafeteria or classroom.
