
The murder that occurred 19 years ago in Kocaeli was solved thanks to the special task force. It was revealed that math teacher Hikmet Akçay, who went missing in 2006, was stabbed to death by a former female student and his body was burned.
It was revealed that math teacher Hikmet Akçay (51), who disappeared 19 years and 7 months ago in Istanbul, was murdered 5 months before his records expired. In the operation carried out on Teachers' Day, four suspects, including a woman, who stabbed teacher Hikmet Akçay to death, took him from Kocaeli to Silivri in a suitcase and burned him alive, were arrested. It is known that among the suspects are Esin B. (42 years old), a middle school student of the murdered teacher, a chemistry teacher and a coach. It turned out that Hikmet Akçay, whose body was found at the time, was buried in a homeless cemetery when he could not be identified. The suspects, who allegedly confessed to the murder in their statements, were transferred to the court after checking in at the police station.
SELAMI YILDIZ GIVES GUIDANCE, A SPECIAL GROUP IS ESTABLISHED
Under the direction of Istanbul Police Chief Selami Yıldız, teams of the Missing Persons Bureau retrieved the expired file from the shelf and revealed a murder. The special team established by the Missing Persons Bureau reviewed the missing persons application made on May 2, 2006. İsmet Akçay, the applicant, said that they had not heard from his brother Hikmet Akçay, a teacher, for 2-3 days and they were worried about his life.
HE DID NOT LOSE CONTACT WITH HIS TEACHERS
In files pulled from dusty shelves by the Missing Persons Bureau, it was established that Hikmet Akçay frequently met with Esin B., then a middle school student, and her family. Police teams examined the past of Esin B, who is known to be currently working in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Spor A.Ş., and determined that she never stopped communicating with the missing Hikmet Akçay, even though she had started studying at university. It was established that Esin B, who was educated at Hikmet Akçay's house as a child, received financial support from time to time.
THE IDENTITY OF THE REPRESENTATIVES WAS DETERMINED FROM HTS RECORDS
In the investigation, the police focused on April 27, 2006, when Hikmet Akçay's phone was turned off. On this day, her college friend Zemçi S. (45 years old), high school math teacher Erdoğan Y. (63 years old) and her cousin Hakan D. in Kocaeli, who frequently talked on the phone with Esin B., were placed under police surveillance. In the studies conducted, HTS records establish that these people acted together on April 27, 2006.
ACTIVITY PERFORMED ON TEACHERS' DAY
After completing the work, the teams of the Missing Persons Department pressed the button to proceed with the operation. A campaign was organized on Teachers' Day, November 24, with the participation of Special Police. Esin B, Erdoğan Y, Zemçi S and Hakan D. were detained during the operation held in Istanbul and Gaziantep.
CONFESSED TO MURDER
Although the suspects questioned at the Public Order Branch Directorate in Gayrettepe initially denied the incident, details of the murder reminiscent of a movie script were revealed in their statements later. Esin B., who admitted to committing murder in his statement to the police, said: “Hikmet was my math teacher in middle school. We had a good relationship with him and he had met my family. Because our financial situation was not good, he would occasionally give us financial support.”
“He was angry because I had an affair with a married man.”
Stating that she was constantly in contact with her teacher, Esin B. said: “I entered the Department of Physical Education Teaching at Kocaeli University. When we entered university, I continued to talk to him. Meanwhile, when I entered high school, I fell in love with my chemistry teacher, Erdoğan Y. At first, my love was unrequited because I was young. However, when we started university, we became lovers. Hikmet angry because he heard that we were lovers. He threatened me by saying, 'What are you doing with married men? I will complain about you to your family, and that teacher to his wife.' “He did it,” he said.
“I WAS MAD”
Explaining how Hikmet Akçay came to Kocaeli on the day of the incident, Esin B. said: “First he wanted to come to my house. When I refused, we met at a shopping mall. We argued again over the same issue. Then, we went shopping at the mall and came to my house. When we got home, we argued again. Meanwhile, he tried to strangle me by hugging my neck. So, I pushed He was motionless when he fell to the ground. I went into the kitchen and got one.” I'm crazy. I don't remember exactly what I did. “It happened,” he said.
AFTER KILLING THE MAN, THEY WENT TO THE KILLER'S HOME IN ISTANBUL
Esin B. said that after the incident, she called her university friend, Zemçi S, who is currently working as a coach at the Ministry of Youth and Sports. “He came to my house. When he saw the body, he asked what happened. I told him the situation. At first, we planned to go to the police. But then we decided to hide the body. We took the body into the bathroom.” It was determined that Esin B. and Zemci S., who left the bodies of the suspects at the house in Kocaeli, went to Hikmet Akçay's house in Bayrampaşa, Yıldırım district, Istanbul. It was determined that the suspects entered the house using the key taken from the body, searched for documents that could lead to blackmail and then left the house.
Teacher Hoa ALSO CALLED LOVER
Explaining every detail about the murder, Esin B. said that after returning to Kocaeli, she called chemistry teacher Erdoğan Y and informed him about the situation. Declaring that Erdoğan Y went to Kocaeli when he learned about the incident, Esin B. said: “We decided to take the body away. We bought a red suitcase. He put the body in the suitcase and put it in the trunk of the car. We went to Istanbul with me, Zemçi and Erdoğan. While walking around randomly, we took the body out of the car in Silivri, Beyciler village, Factory area. Buried In God's Cemetery
Upon investigation, police determined the identity of Hikmet Akçay, whose burned body was found in the same area at the time, having been buried in a homeless cemetery after being kept for a period of time and unable to be identified.
FIND OUT THE VOICE RECORDING IN THE HOUSE OF THE ACCUSED TEACHER
Following the first missing persons application for Hikmet Akçay, Missing Persons Department teams determined that several voice recordings were sent to the judicial supervisory authority during the search of his home, but the voices were not fully heard. Later, during the investigation, the questionable tapes were found at the judicial agency and re-examined. It was determined that several conversations between Hikmet Akçay and Esin B. were recorded in records enhanced by evolving technology. It was determined that during these conversations, Hikmet Akçay threatened: “You have sex with married men. I will tell your mother about you. I also know that teacher's wife. I will tell her the story. If you do not end this relationship, I will tear you to pieces and put you in a suitcase.”
The suspects, who were arrested by the Missing Persons Bureau five months before the statute of limitations for the murder expired, were brought to court after their proceedings.
