
A fire broke out on a ship anchored in the Tuzla shipyard area, Istanbul. The fire did not cause any loss of life or injury but caused great material damage.
A fire broke out in the warehouse area of the 163-meter-long ship named “Zein 1”, a ship carrying live animals under the Panamanian flag, at a shipyard located on Tersaneler Street, Tuzla district of Istanbul for unknown reasons.
The fire broke out around 12 o'clock and the fire quickly engulfed the ship. Security forces have blocked off the area with a safety strip.
ABOUT 100 PERSONNEL PARTICIPATED IN COMBAT WORK
Firefighters from different districts intervened in the fire. The fire was extinguished after about 1.5 hours with the efforts of about 100 employees.
NO KILLS OR INJURIES
The fire did not cause any loss of life or injury but caused great material damage. It is believed the fire broke out in one of the feed loading areas.
INVESTIGATION HAS STARTED
An investigation has been launched into the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
