
It is known that two people were trapped under rubble in the collapse that occurred at a quarry operating in the Fatsa district of Ordu.
A collapse occurred at a quarry construction site in the Fatsa district of Ordu. Teams began rescue operations for two workers believed to be trapped under rubble caused by piles of soil and rock breaking off from the slope.
The incident occurred around 5:00 p.m. at the stone quarry site on Ordu-Çatalpınar Road.
While working at the mine, piles of soil and rubble fell from the slope onto construction machines and trucks. According to initial findings, the construction equipment operator and truck driver were trapped under the rubble.
After being notified, AFAD, fire brigade, gendarmerie, medical team and surrounding machinery were dispatched to the scene.
Governor Ordu Muammer Erol also arrived at the scene, received information from authorities and monitored work on the spot. Erol said the quarry is 7 km from the district center and said:
“There was an explosion in the quarry at about 12 o'clock within the scope of routine work. However, at about 4:30 p.m. there was mass movement from above. Currently, under the mass there is a truck and a construction machine, driver and operator. There are machines working at the point that our friends who know this place described. We have nearly 20 work machines supporting these works. Teams of AFAD, UMKE, gendarmes and 112 teams are here.”

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş, made a statement about the migration situation on his social media account.
Kurtulmuş used the following sentences:
“I am extremely saddened to learn that our workers are trapped under rubble at a quarry in Fatsa district of Ordu. Our state's relevant organizations and teams are continuing their search efforts. We hope that our workers will be safely rescued as soon as possible.”
