President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that the export record in the history of the Republic was broken in 2025. Erdoğan said, “Our exports of goods, which increased by 4.5% compared to the previous year, totaled 273.4 billion dollars. We estimate that our exports of goods and services in 2025 will reach 396.5 billion dollars.” he said.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the program announcing 2025 export figures at the Istanbul Parliament Center.
President Erdoğan said that 2025 will be a record year for exports and listed the provinces that export the most.
Highlights of Erdoğan's statements are as follows:
“-Our exports of goods, increased by 4.5% over the previous year, totaled $273.4 billion. We have thus achieved the highest annual export level in the history of our Republic.
-In 2025, our 33 provinces will export over 1 billion USD. Among the five provinces that export the most, Istanbul ranks first with 57.8 billion USD. Kocaeli ranked second with 35.1 billion USD. Izmir ranked third with 23.6 billion USD. Bursa ranked fourth with $20 billion. Tekirdağ ranked fifth with $13.2 billion.
-In December, a net increase of $3 billion was achieved compared to last year. For the first time, our monthly export turnover exceeded 26 billion USD. There is a similar record for our exports of goods in 2025. We estimate that our exports of goods and services in 2025 will reach $396.5 billion.
-The ratio of exports to imports, about 50% in 2002, has increased to 74.8% in 2025.
-We broke a new record by bringing our economy, which was 1 trillion 260 billion dollars in 2024, to 1 trillion 538 billion dollars in the third quarter of 2025.
-Our profile for 2025 does not stop at this. Our goods exports increased in the first 10 months of last year. In 2025, our net merchandise exports increase by $11.7 billion.
Our economy, which recorded a growth rate of 3.7% in the third quarter of 2025, has continued to grow uninterrupted for 21 quarters.
-We close 2025 with imports of 365.5 billion USD.
-In the automotive industry, we are the 4th largest manufacturing facility in Europe and the 12th largest in the world, with an annual output of 1.5 million vehicles and exports exceeding $41 billion.
-The presence of our local and national Togg brand in the European market with new models shows our engineering and design strength.
– Our defense exports, which reached 248 million dollars in 2002, have increased 40 times in the last period to 9 billion 870 million dollars in 2025.
“Türkiye has become the European Union's fifth largest trading partner and our trade volume has increased to $232.7 billion by 2025.”
“OUR GOAL FOR 2026 IS 410 BILLION DOLLARS”
President Erdoğan said, “Our target for 2026 is a total of $410 billion in exports, of which $282 billion is goods exports and $128 billion is services exports. I have full confidence that we will exceed the 2026 target.” he said.
“THE GUIDE TO ANKARA WILL WIN”
Foreign policy is also on Erdogan's agenda. “Türkiye's purpose is not to make enemies but to make friends.” President Erdoğan said that it is impossible to establish an equation without Türkiye.
Erdoğan said:
“Efforts to eliminate Türkiye have so far been fruitless. Even when it is established that it is impossible to establish an equation without Turkey, everyone understands that this will not last long. Those who side with Türkiye will win, those who oppose it will lose. Those who turn towards Ankara will win, those who are confused about their qibla, those who think short-term and those who become legionnaires for the empire will lose.”
