
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan meets Russian President Vladimir Putin in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in Turkmenistan's capital Ashgabat to attend the “International Trust and Peace Forum”, met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
It is estimated that the Russia-Ukraine War was on the agenda during the meeting between the two leaders.
The meeting took place at the hotel where Erdoğan was staying; Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, MİT Chairman İbrahim Kalın, Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, Chief Advisor for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy to President Akif Çağatay Kılıç and AK Party Vice Chairman Halit Yerebakan also attended.
“THE RUSSIA-UK WAR MUST END”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his speech at the “International Trust and Peace Forum” in the morning, said that the Russia-Ukraine War should end.
Emphasizing that they are working to create a zone of peace and security in the surrounding area by establishing good relations with neighboring countries, Erdogan said: “We sincerely hope that the war between our two northern neighbors, Russia and Ukraine, with whom we have long-standing relations and based on mutual respect, will end. We are ready to provide concrete support to diplomatic initiatives aimed at ceasefire and peace, especially the Istanbul Process.” He used the following expressions:
