President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the iftar program “Labour Table Meeting” at the Beştepe National Gallery.
The President spoke after the iftar dinner. Erdoğan's statement is as follows:
“OUR BROTHERS FROM GAZA ARE AN EXAMPLE FOR ALL MUSLIMS”
“I would like to send greetings and love to all our employees, including you, in all 81 provinces and cities, who have created value for the country with their sweat and efforts, as well as to all our fellow workers.
Despite the ceasefire achieved through our efforts on October 10, the lawless Israeli government continues to increase its attacks on Gaza and the West Bank. As a result of Israeli attacks, 615 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 2 thousand Palestinian brothers have been injured since October 11. Serious difficulties in accessing humanitarian aid remain. Unfortunately, restrictions, cruelty and arbitrary practices continue at the Rafah border crossing, which is Gaza's trachea.
Our brothers from Gaza, who had iftar in makeshift buildings amid the ruins but did not bow to the oppressors, set an example for all Muslims with their faith.
May God help the oppressed people of Gaza and all oppressed souls.
“We have taken revolutionary steps”
We have tried to create a fair and peaceful working environment in our country. We have not become hostile to capital nor have we divided capital into colours. We have worked to improve the conditions of workers, civil servants and unions with balanced and reasonable policies. We have taken revolutionary steps.
I want to briefly share with you some of our outstanding reforms. As you know, May 1 has been one of the most controversial issues in this country for many years. We put an end to all these unnecessary discussions by declaring May 1 a public holiday as Labor and Solidarity Day. We have revised and improved occupational health, union and collective bargaining laws to ensure our colleagues work in safer conditions. We have simplified the conditions for establishing a union. We strengthen union guarantees and the right to strike. We have given our officials the right to collective bargaining. We applied the collective agreement bonus that the main opposition party brought to the constitutional court and asked for its abolition.
The regulations regarding our people, whose rights have been ignored and victimized for many years, have worried some circles.
“We laugh at his delusion”
We laugh at the illusions of this group, the cowards who hide behind the concept of secularism and shoot at the faith values of the nation, and who cannot digest the change that Türkiye has undergone in 23 years. No matter what statements they make, we continue to expand the rights and freedoms of society.
