While Defense Minister Yaşar Güler met Mehmetçik in Ankara on the last day of the year, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also spoke with Mehmetçik by phone and congratulated them on the new year.
“Under the policy of ‘Peace at home, Peace in the world,’ we are fighting fiercely to ensure stability in our region and beyond,” Erdogan said, adding: “We have seized a historic opportunity to turn the gains we have achieved despite serious difficulties and obstacles into lasting successes.”
Erdoğan said, “We will proudly hand over the new, strong and great Türkiye to the next generations as a sacred trust, binding it with all its elements. We will not allow any terrorist organization to come between us and our goals, regardless of its name, its claims and the values it exploits.”
