MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli gave the first speech at the ceremony. Bahçeli said that Hatay was born from the ashes and expressed condolences to those who died in the earthquake.

“I appreciate and admire that Hatay was reborn from the ashes and stood up to carry out a thorough revival campaign. Immediately after the Kahramanmaraş earthquake of magnitude 7.6 and 7.7 that we suffered on February 6, 2023, a huge struggle was launched with the unity of the state and nation to heal the wounds caused by the terrible disaster.
Our 11 provinces and 113 districts; Our citizens, numbering 14 million, faced the catastrophic consequences of the earthquake and heartbreaking devastation. Basically, our entire country is shaking with sadness, and our Türkiye is also shaking with the disaster of the century.
