The General Department of Meteorology released the temperature analysis report for September 2025.
Accordingly, while the normal temperature in September 1991-2020 across Türkiye was 20.9 degrees, it increased by 0.8 degrees to 21.7 degrees in September 2025.
This value was recorded as the 11th warmest September in the past 55 years. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE IS IN CIZRE On the other hand, temperature values measured in September at 220 stations were used to evaluate the climate in Türkiye. Accordingly, the Mediterranean Region in general, Edirne, Kadıköy, Kocaeli, Gökçeada, Çanakkale, Bursa, Yalova, Ayvalık, Dikili, Manisa, Uşak, İzmir, Çeşme, Kuşadası, Aydın, Denizli, Bodrum, Muğla, Marmaris, Uzunköprü, İpsala, Burhaniye, Bergama, Gediz, Seferihisar, Ödemiş, Nazilli and around Yatağan, the temperature varies with the seasons. It is above normal and in other parts of the country it is subject to seasonal regulations.
In September 2025, extremely high temperatures were measured in Erzurum with 2.4 degrees below zero and the highest temperature was measured in Cizre with 44.6 degrees.
WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE TODAY?
No significant changes in weather conditions are expected today.
According to the forecast of the General Directorate of Meteorology, it is estimated that the northern areas of the country will have some and very cloudy places, northeast Marmara and the West coast of the Black Sea and northern areas of Balıkesir will have rain and showers, and other places will have light clouds and clearness. Air temperatures are expected to remain within seasonally normal levels. Istanbul is cloudy, there will be localized rain and the temperature is 19 degrees. Ankara is slightly cloudy at 18 degrees, Izmir is sunny at 24 degrees, Bursa is 19 degrees, Antalya is sunny at 28 degrees.
Cengiz Çelik, Weather Forecaster of the General Directorate of Meteorology, Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, gave an assessment of the expected weather this week. Çelik said no significant changes in temperatures are expected throughout the week and temperatures will continue to be 1 to 2 degrees below the seasonal norm.
BE CAREFUL IN THE NEXT 5-6 DAYS!
Stating that the Marmara and Black Sea regions will be affected by intermittent rainy weather for 5-6 days, Çelik noted that the weather will be cloudy and slightly cloudy in the Central and Southern regions.
Çelik said that snowfall in high areas is normal this season, and the altitude of the places where snowfall occurs is above 2 thousand meters. Additionally, Çelik said that in the coming days, snowfall will reach lower altitudes and city centers within the framework of seasonal norms.
