During the raid carried out by teams of the Yalova Police Department at a house in Elmalık village in the city center at around 3 a.m., the suspects opened fire on the police.
CONTINUE OPERATION
7 policemen were injured in the conflict. The operation, supported by special operations police from Bursa, continued with security measures taken in the surrounding area.
Although it was announced that the police officers' injuries were not life-threatening, it was learned that one police officer would be transferred to Bursa.
Governor Yalova's statement on the incident included the following statements:
“7 police officers were injured in the incident that occurred during a planned operation against the terrorist organization DAESH in the area of responsibility of our Yalova Police Department. Within the scope of the incident, Special Operations support teams from Bursa province were dispatched to the area and supported the operation. The 7 injured police officers were immediately taken to the hospital and according to the first medical assessment, the injured are not in a life-threatening condition. Security measures and intervention efforts at the scene continue to be controlled with the participation of reinforced forces.”

According to information obtained from confidential sources; According to the results of intelligence research conducted by MİT, it was determined that İbrahim Burtakuçin was operating on behalf of the terrorist organization DAESH in Türkiye, that he was seeking to join DAESH by traveling to conflict areas if the opportunity arose, and that he was preparing for an attack on New Year's Eve.
The operation, which took place on December 25, 2025, was carried out by the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office under the direction of the Terrorism Crime Investigation Department. According to instructions, within the scope of investigation carried out by the Directorate of the Anti-Terrorism Branch of the Istanbul Police Department; Information has been obtained that within the scope of DAESH's upcoming Christmas and New Year events, calls to action and attack plans will be launched against Türkiye, especially against non-Muslims.
Arrest warrants were issued for 137 suspects, some of whom were found to have links to conflict areas within the terrorist organization's reach, and some of whom were charged with terrorist crimes at the Turkish and international levels.

Simultaneous activities were held at 124 different locations across Istanbul. As a result of this operation, many guns, ammunition boxes and organizational documents were seized.
