
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's (IMM) fiscal year 2026 budget of 440 billion liras was approved by a majority vote despite 86 negative votes.
The sixth session of the November meetings of the IMM Council was held at the municipality building in Saraçhane under the chairmanship of IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan.
At the meeting, which lasted about 10 hours, group vice presidents of political parties and members of Parliament spoke after Aslan presented the IMM's 440 billion lira budget and gave an assessment of the projects and investments they targeted.
In the subsequent vote, the IMM FY 2026 budget was approved with 151 votes to 86 votes against.
