
It is known that the person who was found dead in a car in Arnavutköy with a single bullet in the head was killed by his friend, who had served a 39-year prison sentence and was preparing to flee abroad, while he was helping him.
The horrific incident in Istanbul took place on January 14, 2026 in Arnavutköy Anadolu district. Police teams were dispatched to the area upon receiving reports of a person lying motionless in a vehicle. During the investigation, it was identified that the person in the car was Özgür Yurdakul (49 years old) and he died after being shot in the head by a bullet. During the research conducted by police teams, the murder suspect was identified as Emrah A. (39).
It is known that Emrah A, who had a 39-year prison sentence and many criminal records, wanted to flee abroad when he realized that he would be sentenced again due to other records after being released from prison 1 month ago and killed his friend in a fight on the way out.
THEY ARGUED ON THE WAY TO EDIRNE
According to information obtained within the scope of investigation; It is known that Emrah A contacted his childhood friend MT and MT sent his employee Özgür Yurdakul and his son BT (18) to Emrah A. It was said that the suspect was planning to escape abroad through Yurdakul, so they left for Edirne. It was determined that during an argument on the road, Emrah A killed Özgür Yurdakul by shooting him in the head, then returned to Arnavutköy and parked the car in which the body was found on a street.
He escaped from the police and was captured on the street
During the investigation carried out after the incident, a car with license plate number 34 GZG 097 was seen used by Emrah A in Sazlıbosna district. The suspect did not comply with the police squad's warning to stop and tried to flee by crashing into the squad car. After the chase, Emrah A was arrested while walking on the street in Arnavutköy. During the search, a gun, magazine and cartridges were seized. BT and MT were also detained in connection with the same incident.
It is known that the suspects will be transferred to the Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Prosecutor's Office on January 15, 2026.
On the other hand, the moments when the car where the murder allegedly took place was towed away and crime scene investigation teams conducted detailed work on the street were reflected on both security cameras and people's cell phone images.
