The driver whose driving license was confiscated and fined 11 thousand 629 liras when caught drunk driving in Aksaray, received a ticket and continued to drink alcohol in the car.
Plainclothes police teams patrolling the dormitory area of Aratol İstiklal District stopped the driver from leaving the Tekel dealership and getting behind the wheel of the car. Traffic police were dispatched to the scene because the driver named Tunay D. (27 years old) was caught with a bottle of alcohol in the vehicle.
In a short time, teams from the Provincial Police Traffic Registration and Inspection Branch were present at the scene and measured the driver's concentration with a breathalyzer. During the alcohol test, it was determined that the driver had an alcohol level of 1.25 promil.
“I DRINK NUMBER 10”
After controlling the alcohol concentration, the traffic police begin the penalty procedure. During the process of determining the driver's license and interrogating the vehicle, this driver made statements that caused the police to give up.
The drunk driver boasted that he had been drinking as if confessing in front of the police: “I drank very well, I swear I drank quite a lot. I drink every day. From now on I will drink well.” The driver surprised even the police, sometimes standing with difficulty looking at the fine receipt in his hand and then asking the police: “How much did you pay?” he asked.
When the police announced the fine, this time he told the police officers: “God bless you, it doesn't matter at all. Thank you for the life and prosperity of our state.” he said.
“WE SAY TO MAKE FOOTBALL, BUT IT DOESN'T HAPPEN”
After being fined 11 thousand 629 liras, the public order team was called to the scene to check his health and take a statement according to the legal procedure initiated against the driver who took over the vehicle. The drunk driver sat in the car until the public order team arrived and continued to drink in the car even though he was caught drunk behind the wheel and had his license confiscated. The driver, interviewed by reporters who filmed him with the alcohol in his hand, said: “Now I've been arrested, it's over, I was drinking. I drank from here, I left and was stopped by the police. We thought we would polish it off but it didn't work.” he said.
“I HAD A DRIVING LICENSE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN AKSARAY”
The driver, who was reminded by the press that his driver's license was confiscated for six months when he drank alcohol, said: “I always drink alcohol. No matter what, it doesn't matter. But I had my driver's license revoked for the first time. Thank you to our state. I can't lie and say 'I won't drink alcohol', I will.” he said.
The driver was fined and his driver's license was confiscated for 6 months, then was put in a police van by the public order team to the scene and taken for medical examination. The drunk driver, who completed a medical examination at the Aksaray Training and Research Hospital Emergency Services, was taken to the police station for questioning as part of the criminal investigation against him because he was twice over the legal limit. The driver's car was handed over to relatives who arrived at the scene. The investigation into the incident continues.
