The requested prison sentence for detained defendant Sibel Arya Geriş, the physician assistant who poured a flammable substance on Gözde Yılmaz's face and burned it in Kadıköy, has been announced.
On November 1, Gözde Yılmaz (31) had perfume poured on his face and set on fire at an entertainment venue on Sakızgülü Street of Caferağa District.
An investigation has been launched by the Anatolian Chief Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident. In the indictment against defendant Sibel Arya Geriş, who was detained as a physician's assistant within the scope of the investigation, it was stated that the complainant, who suffered burns to his face, neck and other body parts after the incident, could not find a way to escape.
In the report of the Institute of Forensic Medicine, it was said that Yılmaz suffered second-degree burns and there were no conditions that were life-threatening to him.
REMAIN MEDICINE
Defendant Geriş, whose testimony was given within the scope of the investigation, declared that he and DY had been in love for about 1.5 years and said: “He used drugs, but after they became lovers, he was treated at AMATEM to quit drugs according to my struggle. Gözde Yılmaz is DY's friend. She got DY used to drugs. It was DY who told me this.” he declared.
Geriş, who claimed that he went to the complainant on the day of the incident to talk to his girlfriend about not giving drugs, claimed that he was also drunk when he arrived at the scene and had a drink in his hand that he thought was alcohol.
Geriş claimed that while trying to talk to the complainant, he was angry at her sarcastic attitude and drugged his lover and poured liquid on her, adding:
“I poured the liquid in my hand on Gözde. Then, I lit a fire. I did not think that the liquid I spilled contained flammable substances and that Gözde would burn. This was not my aim or intention. I acted like that under the pretext of being drunk and Gözde gave drugs to DY. I am sorry. I accept the accusation as I explained it.”
HE BECAME A COMPLAINT
Complainant Yılmaz claimed that he filed a complaint against the defendant for burning his face and making him unable to work.
Yılmaz said that he did not know the suspect and that there was no hostility between them.
While I was being treated at the hospital, I received a text message from DY saying: “I will stab you. My girlfriend went to jail because of you. You can't enter Kadıköy anymore.” He said he received threatening messages.
PENALTY REQUEST
In the indictment, it is stated that the defendant committed the act with the intention of keeping the plaintiff away from his lover. A prison sentence of 2 years and 3 months to 4 years and 6 months was requested for defendant Sibel Arya Geriş who was detained for the crime of “intentionally using a gun to cause injury”.
The defendant is expected to appear before a judge in the coming days within the scope of the indictment accepted by the Anatolian Criminal Court of First Instance.
