The delegation will hold meetings with Shara and Syrian officials within the scope of the visit.
On the agenda is the latest situation in the March 10 agreement signed between the Syrian government and the SDF. The three names will discuss the latest situation on the ground and possible new routes with their interlocutors.
Security risks arising in southern Syria due to Israeli aggression will also be placed on the negotiating table.
Deputy Foreign Minister Nuh Yılmaz, who was appointed Ambassador of Türkiye to Damascus, was also present in the delegation.
Foreign Minister Fidan is expected to soon hold a joint press conference with his Syrian counterpart Shaybani.
SYRIAN CONSTRUCTION
In addition to the security issues that will be the focus of the meeting, the conference is also expected to discuss bilateral projects aimed at rebuilding Syria and assess efforts to support the Syrian government's capacity-building efforts.
Türkiye supports healing the wounds of the nearly 15-year conflict in Syria but also makes necessary efforts to evaluate new cooperation opportunities in accordance with the interests of the two countries in the direction of serving the stability and security of Syria.
In this context, Minister Fidan first visited Syria on December 22, 2024, after the overthrow of the Assad regime.
