
A lawsuit was filed at Bakırköy Court against two people who promised to “release” the detained defendants through a known prosecutor. The suspects were recommended a sentence of 17 years in prison.
In Istanbul, an indictment was prepared against two suspects who allegedly demanded money from their relatives with the promise of releasing those arrested.
Bakırköy Chief Prosecutor's Office issued a statement on this matter on its social media account. On October 2, 2021, identified suspect AD and a person who was a police officer at the time told the detainees that he was a “familiar prosecutor in court” and promised to release them in exchange for money.
Following the announcement, the Bakırköy Chief Prosecutor's Office took action. A public lawsuit was filed against the two suspects. The indictment calls for a sentence of up to 17 years in prison for the two defendants.
The prepared indictment was sent to the Bakırköy Supreme Criminal Court.
