
4.5 kg of drugs were found in a cereal box in the suitcase of a foreign passenger who wanted to enter Türkiye from Çukurova International Airport.
Customs Enforcement officers became suspicious about the suitcase of a foreign national LM, who wanted to enter Türkiye from Çukurova International Airport in the Tarsus district of Mersin, after passing through the device.
After the drug dog responded, the suitcase was opened and searched. 4 kg and 510 grams of marijuana were seized in 10 packages hidden in cereal packages in an opened suitcase. Following the direction of the Director of the Tarsus Prosecutor's Office, the foreign suspect was arrested and taken to the police station for processing.
Stating that the investigation is continuing, Governor Mersin vowed to resolutely fight against drugs in 2026, as well as in 2025, and efforts will continue tirelessly to ensure national peace and security.
