The conflict broke out after suspects opened fire during a drug operation organized by police in Fethiye. Five suspects were arrested in the incident that injured a police officer.
Teams of the Drug Crime Prevention Department of the Fethiye Provincial Police Department carried out an operation at an apartment building in Karaçulha District within the scope of their work against drug traffickers across the city.
The suspects inside during the operation opened fire on police teams. A police officer was injured in the leg after the fire.
During the scuffle, one of the two suspects was arrested at the scene, while the other escaped to the store on the lower floor of the building. Special Police (PÖH) teams were dispatched to the area to arrest the suspect, who was identified as armed.
As a result of the siege and search effort lasting about 4 hours, the suspect was neutralized and detained in the store area where he was hiding. It is known that the injured police officer was hospitalized and is in good health.
