“Within the scope of investigation No. 2025/280882, which is being carried out by the Trafficking, Narcotics and Economic Crime Investigation Department of our Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office, he is charged with TCK-191 Purchase, Acceptance or Possession of Narcotic Drugs or Stimulants for Use, or Use of Narcotic Drugs or Stimulants, TCK 227 Promotion and Intermediation of Prostitution, TCK-190 Facilitation of Prostitution drug or stimulant use.” “According to our instructions, search, arrest and detention operations were carried out by the Narcotics Department of the Istanbul Police Department on 25 suspects. Within the scope of the operation, 17 suspects were arrested, one suspect was determined to be abroad and procedures to arrest other suspects are continuing.”
Efforts to find eight people continue within the scope of the investigation.
HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK?
Those arrested in drug cases against celebrities will first undergo medical examination at the hospital.
These names will then be taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for drug testing.
The celebrities were then brought to court to give statements to the prosecutor.
The prosecutor's request to the detainees is made at this stage.
Depending on the request, famous names will be released or brought to court.
ACTIVITY ON CELEBRITIES BEGINS IN OCTOBER
Many operations have been carried out since October 8, 2025 in the drug investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office against celebrities.
Musicians, managers and businessmen, many famous names, took blood and hair samples for testimony and drugs.
26 people were arrested within the scope of the investigation.
Within the scope of the same investigation, former football player Ümit Karan, who was recently detained, made an application stating that he wanted to benefit from effective repentance provisions.
An arrest warrant has been issued for another social media celebrity, Merve Taşkın.
