LATEST FISH PRICE SITUATION
At fishing stands located in the Moloz area of Ortahisar district, anchovies are sold for 300 lira, white fish for 300, sea bream for 500, sea bass for 500, salmon for 450 lira and cod for 250 lira per kilogram.
Fisherman Kadir Pınar said anchovies have been replaced by horse mackerel on the stalls.
Stating that people are also interested in horse mackerel, Pınar said, “We said 'goodbye' to anchovies and 'welcome' to horse mackerel. Horse mackerel is sold a lot. The price is also very reasonable, we sell it for 100 liras. The other day, fresh anchovies were brought to the market and sold for 250 liras. Today, two barrels arrived from İğneada and now they are looking for a market for it.” 350 lira.” he said.
Fisherman Murat Doğan also said salmon and sea bass as well as horse mackerel are more popular.
Mehmet Can Örseloğlu, who said there was almost no more anchovies to be caught for about a month, said: “In addition, there is horse mackerel, the price is not expensive. People have had a demand for horse mackerel.” he said.
