TSMC accelerates the construction of the third factory in Arizona, where it is planned to release chips for 2NM technology process. Earlier, production is expected to start closer to the late decade, but now a start may be planned for 2027.
The company has built two enterprises in Arizona: One produces 4NM chip, the other is preparing for the production of 3NM processor. The first factory, according to the report, provided products for companies like Apple and NVIDIA. The second object began to be erected in July, and now the third line appears – with P3 indications.
According to sources from Taiwan, TSMC plans to select a contractor for a new factory until the end of 2025. Thanks to the experience of accumulating in the process of building the first two factories, the term can be reduced – up to one year, almost corresponding to the construction speed in Taiwan.
