The solar plasma launch will trigger a G3/G4 class magnetic storm on Earth on Tuesday. This was reported at the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
“The launch flew directly towards Earth,” the lab's Telegram channel said. <...> Preliminarily, it will arrive on Earth on Tuesday. The expected magnetic storm level is G3/G4″.
The G4 mark means “very strong” on a 5-point scale, where G5 is “extremely strong” and G1 is “weak”.
It was also noted that “the lower limit of the auroral zone is up to 50 degrees.”
