According to the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, next weekend the Earth will be affected by a coronal hole.
This coronal hole, which is moderate in size and has been visible on the Sun for several months, has grown significantly over the past month. Obviously, it will have a negative impact on the geomagnetic situation.
A coronal hole in the Sun is a region of the solar corona where the temperature and plasma density are much lower than the surrounding regions. This is not an actual hole but a region where the star's magnetic field is weakening.
