Tesla and SpaceX head Elon Musk said users of his company's Neuralink chip will be able to get the improvements. He announced this on social networks X.
The first known patient to have a microchip implanted by Musk was American Nolan Arbo. The businessman admitted that people with implants will be able to update their chips to expand their capabilities. According to Musk, Arbo could be the first to receive the upgrade.
Musk also promised that Neuralink users will be able to get a double implant instead of a regular implant. Apparently, they significantly increase a person's chances of getting chipped, but the billionaire did not reveal the details. He hinted that in the future, people who possess implants will have certain superpowers.
Thousands of people want a chip from Musk
For example, the owners of Neuralink cited a situation in which the chip increased user reactions. Musk noted that the wearer of the implant would be able to beat most gamers in video games, “because ultimately success depends on reaction.”
In early October, Neuralink President Dongjin Seo said there were about 10,000 people who wanted a transplant. Currently, the company has installed chips in 12 patients.
