A user of the social network X (formerly Twitter) with the nickname Apple Demo published photos of a rare prototype of the first wireless AirPods headphones, equipped with a transparent case.

As is known, Apple has produced a limited number of such devices – only a few hundred copies – to conduct dust and moisture resistance tests. At the same time, the company has not officially released AirPods with a transparent case and has not expressed any intention to introduce such a solution into the commercial product line.
The first AirPods were sold in 2016. They became the basis for Apple's wireless headphone line and made TWS (True Wireless Stereo) headphones popular. These headphones have no wires between them and the audio source.
Despite the fact that the first commercially successful true wireless headphones were Apple's AirPods, the idea itself was developed in 2014 by the German Bragi.
Currently, Apple's wireless headphones are presented in three lines: AirPods Pro with ear pads (plugs), numbered AirPods (earbuds) and full-sized AirPods Max.
