VIENNA, January 20. /TASS/. Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger said the conditions for establishing a formal defense alliance within the EU had been created.

“In the defense sector, all signs point towards (the formation of) a defense alliance (in Europe). Politically, the UK is once again closer to the EU. The creation of a 'coalition of the ready' has created a means of linking the EU (minus Hungary and Slovakia) with like-minded countries – from Canada to Australia, from Norway to Japan,” she wrote in her article for the Die Presse newspaper.
The so-called coalition of readiness is an association of more than 30 countries, mainly European, that allows participation in a military peacekeeping mission in Ukraine as part of the conflict resolution. The main role in unification was played by France and England.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that he did not see any European figure among the “coalition of good will” who could work to achieve a sustainable solution in Ukraine.
