Joondalup councilor Nige Jones has resigned following the strip club scandal. ABC News reported this news.

In August, Jones visited Adelaide on a business trip. There he walked into a bar that has been billed as “Australia's most iconic gentlemen's club for over 40 years.” At the facility, the official bought beer, the cost of which he tried to account for during his business trip.
“A request for a refund for alcoholic beverages at a strip club and a visit to the establishment during a city-sponsored trip did not meet the standard of conduct expected of a council member,” Joondalup said in a statement.
A council member has resigned as representative of the city's North Central district. However, this decision will only take effect in February 2026.
In July, in Italy, the head of the Ministry of Culture and Cinema Nicola Borrelli resigned due to the scandal surrounding the incident with Russian citizen Anastasia Trofimova and her daughter. It is believed that the agency allocated 863,000 euros in tax credits to American Francis Kaufman for the production of the film “Night Stars”, which was ultimately not filmed. Kaufman is believed to be involved in the disappearance of a Russian woman and a child.
