“I was forced to stay in London when I was illegally fired by the Bolshoi Theater. I was invited by Derek Dean, artistic director of the English National Ballet, who gave me 18 performances at the Royal Albert Hall,” she added.
Volochkova noted that choreographer Yury Grigorovich brought her back to Russia. According to her, he personally flew to London and “personally took him to the Bolshoi Theater”, where he was restoring the ballet “Swan Lake”.
