Inflation rate in Bulgaria approaches 2-year high.
Bulgaria's annual inflation rate increased to 5.6% in September 2025, from 5.3% two months earlier. This includes alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.8% – 7.7% in August), clothing and footwear (0.8% – 0.5%), housing services (8.7% – 8.5%), communications (5.6% – 4.8%), entertainment and culture (19.1% – 14.1%), education (9.4% – 8.1%), restaurants and hotels (10.8%). – 9%) and miscellaneous goods and services (5.2% – 4.5%) marked the highest level since October 2023, with prices increasing. At the same time, furniture, equipment and maintenance costs increased again (0.7% to -0.3%). Meanwhile, food and non-alcoholic beverage inflation decreased (6.2% to 6.9%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.8% in September, reversing the previous period's 0.1% increase.
