
It is reported that legal action has been taken against 171 suspects in anti-smuggling and counterfeiting operations of alcoholic beverages carried out across the country ahead of the Lunar New Year.
With just a few days left until New Year's Eve, anti-counterfeit alcohol activities continue.
Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya, in a post on his NSosyal account, stated that operations against smuggling and counterfeiting of alcoholic beverages were carried out in 81 provinces in one week.
91 THOUSAND 384 LITER OF FAKE/ILLEGAL LITER REJECTED
Yerlikaya said 91 thousand 384 liters of counterfeit/illegal alcoholic beverages were seized during the operations and shared information that proceedings were initiated against 171 suspects.
Yerlikaya stated that these operations were carried out by provincial gendarmerie commanders and provincial police directorates, in coordination with the chief prosecutor's office, the Gendarmerie Command and the Department of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime of the General Security Directorate, and said:
“By seizing these products, we have prevented harm to people's lives and health through the production of counterfeit and illegal alcohol. We continue to operate against the production of counterfeit alcohol in 81 provinces. Please report suspicious situations to our 112 Emergency Call Center. We will do what is necessary. I congratulate those who contributed.”
