The plane of the Libyan military delegation crashed in Ankara. Libya's Chief of General Staff was on the plane

The jet of the Libyan General Staff and his military delegation on an official visit to Ankara took off for the return journey and crashed into mountainous terrain in Haymana district for unknown reasons. It is known that there were a total of 8 people on the plane.

The jet that took off from Ankara Esenboğa airport to Tripoli crashed for unknown reasons.

 

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said there were five people on the plane, including Libya's Chief of General Staff, General Muhammed Ali Ahmed AL-Haddad.
In her statement, Yerlikaya said, “Contact with the Falcon 50 type business jet with tail number 9H-DFJ, which took off from Ankara Esenboğa Airport for Tripoli at 8:10 p.m. this evening, was lost at 8:52 p.m. An emergency landing notification was received from the aircraft in question around Haymana; however, contact with the aircraft could not be re-established thereafter.” he said.

 

The gendarmerie, fire brigade and medical team were dispatched to the area after information that the plane crashed in a mountainous area in the village of Kesikkavak, Haymana district.

The General Department of Communications noted that on the plane were the Libyan Chief of General Staff, 4 soldiers and 3 crew members.

Yerlikaya said the plane's wreckage was found 2 km from Kesikkavak village in Haymana district. announced that it had reached the south.

INVESTIGATION HAS STARTED

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that the Ankara Chief Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation regarding the plane crash.
 

Tunç said, “Within the scope of the investigation, four prosecutors have been assigned under the coordination of a deputy chief prosecutor.” he said.

 

LIBYA PRIME MINISTER: 5 PEOPLE, OF WHICH THE TOTAL COMBINED IN THE ACCIDENT

 

Libyan Prime Minister Abdülhamid Dibeybe announced that five people, including Chief of the General Staff Al-Haddad, who were on the plane that crashed in Ankara while returning to Libya, were killed in the accident and said: “We are deeply saddened and saddened by the death of the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Mohamed Ali Ahmed Al-Haddad and his entourage due to the plane crash in which they were, while returning from an official visit to Ankara, the capital of Libya.” Türkiye.” he said.

 

Dibeybe noted that the delegation completed a successful official visit with Minister of Defense Yaşar Güler, Chief of General Staff Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu and senior military officials, but his country was shaken by this tragic event.

 

Dibeybe praised those who died in the accident and announced that a joint investigation committee would be established with Türkiye to reveal the circumstances of the accident.

 

WHO IS ON THE PLANE?
 

Along with Chief of the General Staff Al-Haddad, the plane was accompanied by Commander of the Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Al-Fayturi Gharib, Head of the Libyan Military Industry, Brigadier General Mahmoud Al-Qatiwi, Advisor to the Chief of the General Staff Mohamed Al-Asawi Diab and Chief of the General Staff Photographer Mohamed Omar Ahmed Mahjoub and three crew members.

 

BURHANETTİN DURAN: JET DECLARES AN EMERGENCY DUE TO ELECTRICAL FAILURE

 

Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran also issued a statement regarding the incident. Duran said Libyan Chief of General Staff Muhammad Ali Ahmed Al-Haddad, along with four people and three crew members, were on the plane. Duran explained that the jet, after taking off from Esenboğa airport at 20:17, reported an emergency to the air traffic control center at 20:33 due to an electrical fault and requested an emergency landing.

 

In his post, Duran said, “The plane was instructed by the air traffic control center to return to Esenboğa airport and necessary precautions began to be taken at the airport. The plane, which started to descend for an emergency landing, disappeared from the radar screen at 20:36 and contact could not be established after that.

 

“Thanks to search operations initiated by teams associated with our Ministry of Home Affairs, the wreckage of the apparently crashed aircraft has been found and the necessary work is being meticulously carried out by all our relevant agencies.”

 

Warning media organizations and the public to trust only the statements of official agencies, Duran said: “In addition to this, it is very important not to take into account unconfirmed information, speculations and conspiracy theories on social networks, so as not to take credit for disinformation efforts.” he said.

PROCLAIMING 3 NATIONAL TRADE DAYS

The Libyan Government of National Unity declared three days of national mourning due to the plane crash carrying Libyan Chief of General Staff Mohammed al-Haddad and the delegation accompanying him in Ankara.

 

In the written statement of the Government of National Unity, it was stated that the government sent its condolences and sincere condolences to the family of Haddad and his entourage, who were on the crashed plane, as well as his comrades in the Libyan Armed Forces.

The Chief of the Libyan General Staff, General Mohamed Ali Ahmed El-Haddad, met today in Ankara as the official guest of the Chief of the General Staff, General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu. Bayraktaroğlu welcomed Libya's Chief of General Staff, General Mohamed Ali Ahmed El Haddad, with a military ceremony.

 

After the ceremony, General Bayraktaroğlu held bilateral and inter-delegation meetings with General Haddad. Commander of the Land Forces, General Metin Tokel, and Commander of the Libyan Land Forces, Lieutenant General Futuri Gribel, also participated in the talks between the delegations.

 

Today, Minister of Defense Yaşar Güler also received Libyan Chief of General Staff Muhammed Ali Al-Haddad.
