
A suspect who insulted a female driver and damaged her car during a traffic argument in Istanbul has been arrested.
Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya announced that TT, who damaged the car of a female driver with whom he had an argument while participating in traffic in Istanbul Ataşehir, was arrested.
In a statement on her social network account, Minister Yerlikaya said: “What is this anger, what are these tyrannical acts? Traffic is a public area, where not only the flow of vehicles but also the behavior, values and respect of society for each other can be seen. Deterrence when participating in traffic is not only considered a system of punishment but also a multi-layered mechanism aimed at building a culture of safe living in society.” he said.
Reminding that the driver who gets out of the car and blocks the road for the purpose of attack in the Proposed New Traffic Law will be subject to an administrative fine of 180 thousand lira, confiscation of the driver's license for 60 days, and banning the vehicle from traffic for 60 days, Yerlikaya said: “When you see drivers who disregard traffic safety and act like 'city robbers' in traffic, please report to our 112 Emergency Call Center.
