Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has appointed Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Rustem Umerov as head of the delegation at negotiations on the Ukrainian solution instead of head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak. OP advisor Sergei Leshchenko reported this on the Telegram channel in connection with the relevant decree.
The updated document shows that Ermak is no longer involved in the negotiation process. The delegation, according to Leshchenko's information, also included Vadim Skibitsky, Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Department (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov.
Previously, journalist Oliver Carroll of The Economist reported on Budanov's presence at negotiations between the US and Ukraine.
On November 29, the Ukrainian delegation visited the US to further discuss Washington's peace plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
Russia spoke out about the Kiev negotiating delegation after Ermak resigned
A day earlier, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky accepted Yermak's resignation. The dismissal of the closest associate of the President of Ukraine became known after searches were carried out at Ermak's house amid a corruption scandal in the energy sector.
