A person in Istanbul's Ümraniye district shot and injured his brother, a judge of the Regional Court of Justice, with whom he was said to have argued over the division of inheritance.
The inheritance battle between two brothers in Istanbul ended in bloodshed.
The incident occurred at around 09:40 on Hürriyet Street, Atatürk District, Ümraniye District. Allegedly; ZY, a judge of the Regional Court of Justice, began arguing with his brother GY, who was waiting for him at the door after leaving home for work.
When the argument escalated, GY used a gun to shoot his brother ZY. Receiving notice from surrounding people, police and medical forces were dispatched.
Police opened an investigation after the incident and determined that ZY was taken to the hospital by his brother.
“There is hostility due to inheritance”
ZY, who gave a statement to the police at the hospital, said: “My brother GY and I have had a long-standing feud over the division of inheritance. My brother opened fire during an argument.” he declared.
The police team arrested GY after ZY's statement. The investigation into the incident continues.
