
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that he accepted his condolences during a meeting with Georgian Minister of Infrastructure Revaz Sokhadze and that cooperation on infrastructure was discussed.
In his written statement, Uraloğlu said that he met with Georgia's Infrastructure Minister Revaz Sokhadze and his accompanying delegation.
Stating that Sokhadze sent his condolences over the crash of a military cargo plane on the Azerbaijan-Georgia border, in which 20 Turkish Armed Forces personnel were martyred, Uraloğlu said that the guest minister expressed sorrow over the recent tragic plane crash and said that they are fully cooperating with Türkiye on this issue.
Uraloğlu said: “I would like to thank the Minister and the Georgian authorities, who sent their condolences to our country on the tragic plane crash that killed 20 of our sons, for their sensitivity and support. On this occasion, I would like to express my deep condolences to our beloved country once again.” he said.

Emphasizing at the meeting that Türkiye and Georgia are not only neighbors but also two strategic partners that play a complementary and important role in the transport network between Europe and Asia, Uraloğlu stated that Türkiye has become Georgia's largest trade partner and they are satisfied with this.
Uraloğlu pointed out that Türkiye attaches great importance to regional cooperation and develops development projects in line with the goal of creating a common area of prosperity and stability in the region, and said, “With the cooperation between our countries, important projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Oil Pipeline, the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum Natural Gas Pipeline and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway have been implemented declare.” shared his knowledge.
Stating that they connect Asia and Europe with important transformations, Uraloğlu reminded that they have implemented projects such as Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, Çanakkale 1915 Bridge, Eurasian Tunnel and Marmaray.
Uraloğlu pointed out that there are a total of six road connections between Asia and Europe, including previous bridges, and said, “To increase the potential of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Line, I think that establishing a second railway line compatible with the railway gauge between Ahılkelek Station in Georgia and the Kars Logistics Center will accelerate the flow of goods.” gave his assessment.
Minister Uraloğlu pointed out that Turkish contractors operating in the international arena have so far successfully completed 12 thousand 461 construction projects and projects worth about 530 billion dollars in 137 countries, and said:
“We have 43 companies on the World's Top 250 Contractors List. The country with the most companies on this list after China is Türkiye. Our contractors, who have demonstrated success, quality and reliability in qualified projects in various geographies around the world, have delivered a total of 304 projects worth $5.6 billion in Georgia to date.”
