
The founder of the Republic of Türkiye, the great leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, is remembered on the 87th anniversary of his death. State officials led by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited Anıtkabir.
The great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Republic of Türkiye, was remembered with a state ceremony held in Anıtkabir on the 87th anniversary of his death.
The ceremony at Anıtkabir began at 08:50 with officials marching along Lion Road.
President Erdoğan left a crescent and star wreath of red and white carnations at Atatürk's mausoleum.
At 09:05, the hour of Atatürk's death, a moment of silence was observed and then the National Anthem was sung.
In a moment of silence, the Turkish flag was lowered to half mast.
President Erdoğan and state officials then went to the National Treaty Tower.

President Erdoğan wrote the following in the notebook:
“- Dear Atatürk, on the anniversary of your death, we remember with mercy your honor, your comrades and our heroic martyrs.
– We passionately defend the Republic of Türkiye and embroider every inch of it with new works.
– We work day and night for a peaceful and stable Türkiye at home and a victorious Türkiye abroad.
“Türkiye is taking steady steps to become a global power.”
