
Journalists Soner Yalçın, Şaban Sevinç, Aslı Aydıntaşbaş, Ruşen Çakır and Batuhan Çolak and Republican People's Party Media Coordinator Yavuz Oğhan will testify within the scope of the corruption investigation. Oğhan, Sevinç and Çolak were taken to the Istanbul Police Department Finance Department in the morning.
This morning there was a new development in the corruption investigation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality by the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office.
The Chief Prosecutor's Office directed the police to take statements from Republican People's Party Media Coordinator Yavuz Oğhan and journalists Soner Yalçın, Şaban Sevinç, Aslı Aydıntaşbaş, Ruşen Çakır and Batuhan Çolak.
The prosecutor's statement said:
“Within the scope of the investigation carried out by our Chief Prosecutor's Office against the İmamoğlu Profitable Criminal Organization, the Istanbul Police Department has been instructed to defend the suspects Soner YALÇIN, Şaban SEVİNÇ, Aslı AYDINTAŞBAŞ, Ruşen ÇAKIR, Yavuz OĞHAN and Batuhan ÇOLAK on charges of Publicly disseminating false information and supporting a criminal organization Statements made at the Police Department “It will be released to the public.”
WHAT ARE ERRORS?
Six people were charged with publicly disseminating false information and supporting a criminal organization.
Çolak, Sevinç and Oğhan were taken to the warehouse in the morning. It was claimed that proceedings against other journalists were also continuing.
COMPLAINT AGAINST İBB MEDYA A.Ş.
Oğhan's name and the names of some journalists whose statements were taken from the former İBB Medya A.Ş. One of the allegations is that Board Chairman Murat Ongun sponsored a number of journalists.
Oğhan stated that they filed a criminal complaint regarding this allegation and claimed that he met with Ongun intermittently and that there was a smear campaign against him using the HTS dossier.
The journalists mentioned in the statement also denied the allegations and said they would take legal action.
REACTION FROM CHP
CHP Vice Chairman Burhanettin Bulut issued the following statement on social media:
“Journalists Yavuz Oğhan, Şaban Sevinç and Batuhan Çolak were taken to the police station in an operation carried out in the early hours of the morning, accompanied by police, to take their statements.”
In Bulut's statement, Oğhan, who stated that he testified at the Finance Branch, last worked as CHP Communications Coordinator.
It is estimated that the investigation is related to Medya A.Ş., affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. During IMM's investigation, it was found that some journalists received salaries from this company. While naming some journalists in secret witness statements,
Pointing to former President Medya A.Ş. Murat Ongun and his deputy Emrah Bağdatlı, he said, “Murat Ongun not only handles İmamoğlu's media relations but also all his unofficial relations. If money is given to someone, it will be given under the control and instructions of Murat Ongun. Murat Ongun passes these instructions to his closest relative, Emrah Bağdatlı. The real Emrah now transfers money both to organize media and to give money to someone for any job.” he declared. While the secret witness codenamed “Meşe” claimed that some journalists were “funded” through Medya A.Ş., all of these journalists denied the allegations.
WHO IS YAVUZ OGHAN?
Oğhan, who was questioned by the Financial Branch, was born in Ankara in 1969. He started his career as a night reporter. He worked as a reporter and editor in many different organizations. O?
