A 7-story building on Issıkgöl Street, Mevlana District collapsed yesterday morning for unknown reasons. The Bilir family of 5 people living as renters in the building were trapped under the rubble. Thanks to the work of the teams, the bodies of Muhammed Emir Bilir (12) and Nisa Bilir (14) from the family were found during the day. Dilara Bilir (18 years old), the family's eldest daughter, was pulled out of the rubble alive. PHOTOS FROM THE SCENE:By the 19th hour of the search and rescue effort, the body of father Levent Bilir (44 years old) was found. Not long after the father, Bilir's mother's lifeless body was found. Anne Bilir's body was taken to the hospital morgue.The family photos and notes found in the rubble are heartbreaking.On the paper hanging on the wall were the words “Happy birthday to our middle child” and Nisa's photo attracted attention.Work at the ruins site continued into the early morning hours. In the area where 12 buildings had to be evacuated due to precautionary measures, cleaning workers from the district government carried out the work of wetting the roads and cleaning the area.An expert committee, including civil engineers, geophysicists and an architect, arrived at the site in the morning and is inspecting the landfill. Electricity distribution group Sakarya Inc. (SEDAŞ) and PALGAZ are also working in the area. Meanwhile, treatment for Dilara Bilir, 18, the eldest child in the family, who was rescued from the rubble and is in good general health, continues at Gebze Fatih State Hospital.The bodies of Levent Bilir, his wife Emine and their children Muhammed Emir and Hayrunnisa Bilir, who lost their lives in the collapsed apartment building, were taken to Çoban Mustafa Pasha Mosque after an autopsy. Kocaeli Governor İlhami Aktaş, Deputy Minister of Interior Mehmet Aktaş, Rewelfare Party (YRP) Chairman Fatih Erbakan, Metropolitan City Mayor Tahir Büyükakın, Gebze Mayor Zinnur Büyükgöz and many people attended the funeral here. After the afternoon prayers, Bilir's family was buried at the Central Cemetery.
