A 21-year-old medical technician who was hit by a car while trying to cross a highway in Balıkesir's Edremit district died. The fleeing driver was arrested.
The incident of the young woman's death occurred near the Zeytinli Smart Interchange of the Izmir-Çanakkale highway.
21-year-old patient and elderly care technician Özlem Korkmaz tragically died when he was run over by a speeding car while crossing an intersection. The vehicle driver fled the scene.
Thanks to the meticulous work of the Zeytinli Police Department and Detective Jasat associated with the Edremit District Gendarmerie Command, the car was discovered and the driver was arrested in a short time. After questioning, the driver named MY was transferred to the Edremit Chief Prosecutor's Office and arrested.
The death of the young medical technician left immense sadness for his family, relatives and the entire district.
