A father on a picnic with his children in Ankara's Ayaş district died after being trapped under a container that overturned due to strong winds.
Üçler K. (40), who was on a picnic with his three children in Ankara's Ayaş district, died after being trapped under a container house in his hobby garden, which collapsed due to a storm. While the storm continues to impact various areas in the district, the tornado has had a negative impact on daily life.
The incident occurred in the evening at the Doruk location in the district's İlhanköy district. Üçler K went to his own hobby garden to have a picnic with his three children and have a barbecue. Their three children had to take shelter in a container in their garden because of heavy rain and wind. Some time later, the container house in the zoo collapsed due to heavy rain and wind that lasted all day. Üçler K, who was waiting by the barbecue fire, was trapped under a container that was dragged 25 meters. Surrounding people discovered the overturned container and reported the situation to medical forces and gendarmes. The medical team arriving at the scene determined Üçler K had died. Three children trapped in the container and with minor injuries were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
